This verse is so convicting! So many times, I look to my physical needs and neglect my spiritual needs. My spiritual needs are so important, even though my stomach tends to be more demanding and noisier about its needs. It only takes a few minutes to commit the day to my Lord. Sometimes it’s over my bowl of cereal in the morning. When I look at my calendar it’s easy to forget to ask God to help me prioritize my day. Do I bring glory to God in the little things on my schedule? Do I take time to read God’s Word before my To Do List? I don’t think we need to commit 8 hours a day to reading and praying – sometimes that may be necessary! We can pray as we work, we can read as we wait in line, etc. Most of us have some form of a smartphone. Download the Bible and take it with you. (It may even help our anger issues when waiting in a line while somebody asks stupid questions). Take your spiritual life with you as you live life!
