How often do we judge someone else on their sins and ignore ours? We think to ourselves, how could they do such a thing? When we focus on other people’s sin, we think of ourselves higher than we are. When we look within then we can see the sin that we commit, which we all commit daily. All sin equals the same in God’s eyes. Even if your sin seems small to you it is a big deal to God, equal to the big sin that you think is inexcusable. We are all sinners, so do not go up to someone acting like you know it all, and especially do not act like you have not sinned. No one likes a person who thinks that they are all that and a bag of chips. Jesus is saying you are sinner just like them, don’t put yourself higher than them. Show them love. Be the friend when you approach someone about what they are doing in a loving way, an understanding way, a way where they know you are not perfect, and you messed up as well. Show humility. Guess what, we have all messed up big time. People are willing to grow closer to Christ if they have someone to walk with. This is why the church is so important and people in your life can help you get that log out of your eye. This boils down to one of the two greatest commandments: loving others. So don’t point out people’s flaws and act like you have none. That doesn’t show love. Be honest with them and then they can be honest with you and that is a way you can grow deeper with Christ. So, approach people in a loving way, not a hateful way. Love people because Jesus loved us enough to die even when we are sinners. Love people where they are.
