Within the Amazons of Brazil there are many tribes and people groups. All the tribes speak their own language and none of them speak very good Portuguese. One tribe in specific had this foreknowledge of good and evil, even before anyone taught that to them. They knew there was something more to this life. There was something in them that pointed towards a creator. Ecclesiastes 3:11 tells us that God has placed eternity in the hearts of all mankind where we can know there is something more than this life has to offer. That was exactly what this tribe was experiencing, and it was only the beginning. As we all know, God can use anyone, anywhere and over time one person’s obedience led to the salvation of the entire tribe.
When I was in Brazil, I took a trip to meet the people of this tribe. Unfortunately, I was not able to directly speak with them in their native tongue, but we were able to communicate. We were able to talk with them through the limited Portuguese they spoke and more importantly we were able to talk with them about Jesus. This was such a cool opportunity to know that we come from so many different places, people groups, languages, backgrounds, and cultures and still worship the same God together. Just before Revelation 7:11 we see that all people from all nations are worshipping God together at the feet of Jesus. It all culminates in verse 11. This is the end we are all looking forward to. Where we are all worshipping God together with no boundaries and we will all be completely and wholly unified. This is God’s heartbeat, that all who know Him will desire to live out Matthew 28:19-20, sharing the gospel and making disciples of all nations.
Matthew 28:19-20 – 19 Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. This verse hit personally for me as I realized it is not just a call for all believers but a command to GO. It does not matter where God has placed you, the command is to share so we can all praise and worship Him together in the end. It is not always comfortable, easy, or fun, but it is definitely the MOST rewarding of all! My challenge to you is to think of a friend or family member that you know does not know Christ, invite them to coffee or on a walk and share the Good News of Jesus Christ with them! That is our command, let’s live it out!
