Lost in Translation
August 27, 2023
Life comes at us from so many different angles, it can be very challenging trying to express our feelings about the things that we face. Sometimes it can be so hard to communicate with others about what is going on with us. I live in a Spanish speaking country. Even though I’ve lived here for a few years I still struggle with sharing deep or complex thoughts in my second language. Thankfully, my wife speaks better Spanish than I do, and is able to translate for me when I have trouble forming the right words. Although the help of my wife is a blessing, connecting with others can be very difficult when I need to rely on a translator.
That doesn’t have to be the case when it comes to communicating with our Heavenly Father. He created us. He knows on a level more intimate than anyone else. On top of that, He has given us the Holy Spirit to “translate” for us when we are unable to find the words to express what we are feeling. In life, we have good times when we are filled with so much joy we are unable to express our gratitude in words, and hard times when circumstances hit us so hard that we are left speechless. No matter what, we can trust that God knows, He cares, and He understands whatever we might be feeling. We don’t have to worry about finding the right words. Our Father already has them. I pray that you have that inexpressible joy on your special day. If it is one of those days where you are painfully rendered speechless, trust that He knows, He cares, He understands, and best of all, He is with you. God Bless
