Salvation for All

September 25, 2023

Romans 9:25
As he says also in Hosea, “I will call them ‘my people,’ which were not my people; and her ‘beloved,’ who was not beloved.”

Happy Birthday.  In this verse Paul is talking to the church of Rome about His sovereignty and His plan for salvation for both the Jews and Gentiles (so – everybody). He is showing that God has the power to call anyone He chooses to be one of his children. God’s mercy extends to everyone, not just the original people he called His own.

This reminds me that it is not my job to choose who gets to know God’s love and who does not. That power belongs to Him alone. This is also encouraging because to others I might not have seemed to be right for God’s love, but he chose me anyway. We may not think someone deserves His love, but we do not deserve it either. Let’s thank God today that He shed his blood on the cross in order to save us.
