Dud or Love?

We love him, because he first loved us.
One of the worst sounds I could hear in my former role as a car salesman was the “dud” of a dead car battery. No matter how hard or how many times I would turn that key, that car was not going to start.
That’s an accurate picture of our attempts to love without God.
No matter how hard we try, we cannot love without God’s intervention. We cannot love our spouse, son or daughter, mother or father, or God Himself without God first showing us what love is. Love can never be generated by the created. Love must always be exemplified by the Creator.
