2 Birthdays

Methuselah lived a long time!  Today’s verse says he lived 782 years after the birth of his first child.  The next verse says he lived a total of 969 years!  If we live to 100, we have a hard time getting around. At 100, our legs and arms don’t have the strength they once used to and we get winded just walking to the bathroom.  But 969 years?  Poor Methuselah!

As born-again believers we have two birthdays; the day we were born and the day we believed Jesus is the Son of God.  And as believers, we will live forever. Forever!  That’s a lot longer than Methuselah’s 969 years. But we will not be feeble; we get a new body!  So, as you celebrate your birthday, it is true the body you have is getting older. Look forward to that day when you will spend eternity with our Savior in your brand-new body.
