Waste or Tell
July 25, 2024
Going on a foreign mission trip can truly make you take a step back. You realize how much we waste in the USA. We waste water. How long of a shower or bath do we take? We waste electricity. We leave lights on or air conditioning when we are not in the room. We waste toilet paper. Who doesn’t want to make sure! But (hahaha pun intended) being able to flush all your toilet paper is such a luxury. Realizing what we have is such an eye opener. It can make you feel guilty when you return to the USA.
The biggest thing I see wasted is time. Time is something we have such a limited amount of. Once it is all gone, it is gone. Being on a mission trip is a great time to go and tell. But the reality is, we should always be on mission. AS WE GO, TELL. Romans 7:25 says “I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.” Now take a step back and read the verse before. Romans 7:24 says “Oh wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of sin?” The answer is Jesus. There is a lost and dying world that has no hope. If you truly have the answer to our sin problem, you will want to share. Don’t make salvation about you. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that one can be saved. As you enjoy your birthday today, look for the opportunity to tell someone the good news of Jesus’ saving grace. AS YOU GO, TELL.
