The Ultimate Upgrade

For all of us in today’s technological age, just about everything in our lives can be upgraded. Especially our phones. Just about every phone company offers an opportunity to upgrade to a sleeker, better version that can do much more than the current phone. The problem is that there will never be an ultimate version. There will always be something to improve. The day a phone no longer needs to be upgraded is the day that the company goes out of business.

        Thankfully, that isn’t the case for our relationship with God. Only one upgrade was necessary, Jesus. Before we had priests be the bridge between us and God. These priests were normal flawed human beings. So much work was required to make us and them right with God. So many rules and so many sacrifices. Jesus, who was perfect, made one sacrifice, Himself. This made everyone who believes right with God. It’s like comparing the first cell phone, which was the size of a brick, to an Apple watch.  Jesus is our Ultimate upgrade. No others are needed after Him. He squares us with God for eternity. There is absolutely nothing better than that. So, as you enjoy your special day, and possibly receive an upgrade to your phone as a gift, remember the ultimate upgrade Jesus Christ who restores our relationship with God and gives us eternal life.
