Built to Build Together

October 25, 2024

Hebrews 10:25
not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

Have you ever tried doing a 2 or more-person job by yourself? How has that worked out for you? Probably not easy because it was meant to be done by multiple people, not by oneself.

In Hebrews we see the author, likely Paul, saying some people neglect meeting together and that is how that is not good. They are choosing to be alone rather than with other believers. Paul is warning them that as Christians they were to share life with each other. They were to join in community with each other. But why? I can do things better by myself.

That is a lie the enemy would love for you to keep believing. Paul warns them that by staying away from constant community they run the risk of falling away from Jesus altogether. But when we are together, we can help build each other up and encourage each other.

My encouragement to you is to find Christian community that you can live in, so you do not fall away from God. So that you can help others grow and grow yourself. Go to church not because you must but because you want to. You want to experience all the Lord has to offer you in this life.
