Money, Money, Money

So many times, this verse can be misunderstood. Money by itself is not evil, it’s not wrong to have money. The love of money can lead us astray. If we give our lives and every waking moment to earning more money, then that’s wrong. We need to remember to serve and love God and live out His calling on our lives. What about despising and hating money? This can also be detrimental but it’s more common for Christians to call that humility and meekness. But is it? Are we so proud of our humility and ability to live on nothing? When does it become a sin? How about when we aren’t giving to missions or feeding our children. How about supporting our local church and helping God’s Word to be preached where it’s not known? Money is a necessary thing in this world for health and wellbeing – our own but also others. Let’s not hoard our money – let’s help each other to grow and become God’s workmanship. It’s often about balance. Ask God today what He wants you to do with your money.
