Birthday Loophole

How is the day of our death better than the day of our birth?  A French Jesuit offers a unique perspective.  His name is Pierre Teilhard de Chardin and he said, “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.” 

When we are born, we have two qualities.  We have a body, and we have a soul.  So, what makes the day of our death better than the day of our birth?  It is what Billy Graham referred to as a loophole.  He said, “You’re born. You suffer. You die.  Fortunately, there’s a loophole.”  For Christians, it’s that loophole that makes the day of our death better than the day of our birth.  For when we die, the Christian enters heaven where we get a new body…one that will never die.  For believers, that’s what makes our “death day” better than our birthday.
