I am Not Able

“I am not able.” (Numbers 11:14) These are the words which the great leader of Israel uttered when he was at the point of absolute despair. If any man had a burden of responsibility, it was he. The people of Israel whom he was leading under God though the wilderness, came to him with all their troubles and complaints. One day the pressure was so intense that he felt he could stand it no longer, and cried out, “I am not able.”

“But God is able” (2 Cor 9:8). The difficulty with Moses was the same as with many of us — we take responsibility which belongs to God, and which He has promised to bear. It is necessary to learn the absolute inability of ourselves to do anything spiritual, and that God alone and that nothing is “Too hard” for Him. No necessity, no exigency, no difficulty ever surprises Him. “He is able.”

This is the week I had my rod put in my leg. The Dr. and his medical team did not give me enough medication to control my blood thinner. The result was my stroke. I am not able to speak at the Bible study yet.

But God is able,” says the scripture. I hope to have the opportunity to do this yet.
