Testing God is Selfish

This verse is convicting because many times in my own life I ask “God could you be clearer??“I get frustrated with God because I feel like He is not as clear as I want Him to be and I test Him saying if this happens, then I will believe you or be better. But that is not what God wants from us. God wants us to trust Him even when we are not sure what is coming next. He wants us to believe in Him even though we have never physically seen Him. He desires us to stand together bold, united, as one body and if we are not, He says we will fall.

We ought to be fighting together with our brothers and sisters in Christ so when one begins to doubt or fall, we are able to help them. Why leave a friend behind to get attacked by the enemy? That is not standing strong together, that is fighting selfishly. You are telling your brother or sister that their life is not important to you. Then you say to yourself God if you save me I will be better. But you know (and He knows) you will fall right back into your selfish ways as soon as you can. 

Who are you standing with? Who are you standing for? Who do you have in your corner for you when you are starting to stumble? Do not test God instead be humble and seek Christian community to help you through the valleys. Then in return help others in their valleys as you are on your mountaintop.
