Forgive Me, Forgive Thee

Jesus in this passage is talking to his disciples about how what we say we must believe; that it will come to be, because of the power of God. He is telling the disciples that when we pray if we believe that we are forgiven it will happen. However, when we pray, we must also forgive others if we want our prayers to be received. If we are harboring hate and unforgiveness in our hearts towards others, that is a roadblock to our prayerful relationship with Jesus Christ. This speaks to me because it reminds me that others need our forgiveness even when they do not deserve it, just like God forgives me. We are to be like Christ and give grace to others just like He gives us grace every day. We need to prepare our hearts before we pray so that we can come to God with a pure heart.
