Trust and Watch
December 12, 2025
Happy Birthday. Has there been a time in your life that you knew you had to trust in God? It did not make sense at the time, but now it is a vital part of your life. When I chose my college, I just trusted in God to lead me in that direction. I did not understand why I was getting pulled to this school. The first time I got something from them I thought it was a spam email. I ignored it at first BUT then I looked at the email. Long story short, I ended up going to that college and it changed the rest of my life. It has me where God wants me. I realize why God wanted me there; I met some great people /mentors and made lifelong friends. I was able to meet my wife through someone at the school, still live in the same area and hang out with a lot of those people from college.
This passage in Exodus describes how Israel trusts in God and that He will provide a way out of Egypt. This is trusting in God before themselves, trusting that He is going to do what He says He will do. This is the final plague and the worst one of them all. God instructed through Moses that anyone who does not put the blood of a lamb on their doorposts, that their first born will die. This is why the Pharaoh let them go, finally, because his first born died. Nothing like this had ever happened before. Somehow, every first born died unless they had blood on their doorposts. The people of Israel trusted in God’s word even though it made no earthly sense.
The first step in allowing God to use us is trusting in Him. Allowing Him to do what He wants, trusting that He knows what is best for us, even if it does not make sense. At this point in history, Israel was not a country yet, they were slaves, they were not the people who we think of today. This is God fulfilling His promise to His people. Trust in God and watch what He is going to do in your life.
