Overwhelmed?
January 7, 2026
Do you remember a time where you were overwhelmed and didn’t know how to do something at work, school, or at home. I remember the time I started to work as a cook, there are a lot of different stations as a cook, I learned one station 1st then one day everyone else was on break and my boss was on the other side of the counter. Then an order popped up. She walked me through how to cook everything, what to put in to make it and how to present the dish. I was overwhelmed with the other stations I did not know but when I walked through it at a slow rate and someone who believed that I could do it, it made this task easy. I remember telling her that was not hard, and I started to cook on those stations more and more. There are times in life when we get overwhelmed about what choices to make. God tells us to trust in Him, trust in His word and it will guide you. He is talking to Joshua, the new leader of Israel after Moose died. He was a new leader who did not know what to do. He was going into the land that God promised His people and he was going to lead them and be the voice of God to His people. That is overwhelming. God tells him to rely on His word, meditate on His word, do what His word says; then you will be prosperous and have success. We need to rely on His word on what the Bible tells us. We need to meditate on His word. Then. things might not seem so hard; they just might seem easier because you know what God wants for you. Let us, let God lead us and rely on His word. Then things will seem easier, and we will probably feel more confident in what God wants for us and the decisions that we make.
