No Match for Jesus

Mark 1:23-24

Immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out, 24 saying, “Ha! What do we have to do with you, Jesus, you Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God!”

Jesus goes to Capernaum, enters the synagogue right away and begins to teach. A man is in the synagogue with an unclean spirit. Seems odd that the possessed man is in the synagogue, but the church is a place to run to when you need Jesus. The evil spirit knew who Jesus was and was fearful. The evil ones know they are no match for Jesus. They are at war with Jesus. If you are not at peace with Jesus, you are at war with Him. The only way to have peace is to accept His gift of salvation, by faith. Faith that Jesus is the Holy One of God. Sent here to live, die, and defeat death and rise on the third day. He did this so we could have forgiveness for our sins.
