Time Passes ……….Quickly

1 Corinthians 7:30-31

30 those who mourn, as if they did not; those who are happy, as if they were not; those who buy something, as if it were not theirs to keep; 31 those who use the things of the world, as if not engrossed in them. For this world in its present form is passing away.

Happy Birthday. Trusting you will enjoy a wonderful day. This devotional can hopefully help put each birthday in perspective. In 1 Corinthians 7, Paul speaks of everyday ordinary things in our lives and gives some instructions. His overall theme can be summed up in vs 29- …” the time is short..” and in today’s verses 30-31 – “this world passes away”. This probably isn’t what we want to hear on our birthday, but it can be helpful to realize that we all only have so many birthdays. It helps us seize the time. For the word picture below, imagine our life as the Italicized number 1 (look for it) and the rest of the 1s are the millions of years of eternity.
